His impact to the team was not as great as Larry Fonacier’s but the 6-6 center-forward got the job done for the Barakos despite very limited exposure. Bugia was an able backup to Ateneo teammate Enrico Villanueva in their campaign last season as never backed down from the challenges he encountered.
Bugia appeared in 61 games with 19 starts and was given 12.6 minutes of exposure a night. Despite limited minutes, he managed to contribute 4.0 points and 2.6 rebounds per outing. His efforts earned him a spot in the All-Rookie Team from the PBA Press Corps.
